PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store, reseparate and rejudge rejected paper sheets which cannot be judged and to inspect the types and the number of the paper sheets in a device so that they become clear. SOLUTION: A paper sheets transaction device provided with paper sheets judgment means 3 and 7 for separating the paper sheets one by one, transporting and storing them and discriminating the types and the number of the separated paper sheets is used. The rejected paper sheets whose types and the number cannot be judged in spite of the judgment of the paper sheets judgment means 3 and 7 are shifted one by one and they are stored in a collection part 9a while complete overlap is prevented. The paper sheets are reseparated in a reseparation part 9b one by one. The paper sheets judgment means 3 and 7 detect at least size/thickness distribution or face recording information on the patterns of faces on the rejected paper sheets. Thus, the types and the number of the rejected paper sheets are rejudged and the types and the number of all the paper sheets in the paper sheets transaction device are judged to be made clear.
