PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to select a travel route for branch travelling and confluent travelling by controlling a ceiling travelling carriage side.SOLUTION: A ceiling travelling carriage includes: a parent travel device 100, an additional trave device 200, a parent hoist machine 300, an additional hoist machine 400, a parent lifter 500 and an additional lifter 600. Route selection ring moving mechanisms 145a, 245a for vertically moving route selection rings 123a, 223a are disposed on one sides of the travel devices 100, 200 in a width direction, and route selection ring moving mechanisms 145b, 245b for vertically moving route selection rings 123b, 223b are disposed on the other sides of the travel devices 100, 200. At the time of branch travelling and confluent travelling, the route selection ring moving mechanisms 145a, 145b, 245a, 245b are so controlled as to move either the route selection rings 123a, 223a or the route selection rings 123b, 223b upwards thereby bringing the same into contact wit an outside surface of a rail 10.
