PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eddy current measuring sensor capable of performing a hardening depth/hardness measuring test with high detection precision by the strong magnetic field in a probe type coil even when a high-frequency hardening unit largely changed in its outer diameter is inspected and capable of further reducing edge effect, and an inspection method using the same. SOLUTION: A probe type eddy current measuring sensor 100 has an excitation unit 20 and a detection unit 30. The excitation unit 20 includes a main excitation unit, which includes a main core 21 comprising a columnar magnetic material and the main coil 22 being the solenoid coil wound circumferentially around the main core 21, and a subcore 25 comprising the columnar magnetic material arranged circumferentially around the main excitation unit in the same axial center direction as the main core 21 and also equipped with a plurality of sub-excitation units respectively independently constituted so that the axial center direction position to the main excitation unit is made variable.
