PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for insulating ceramics which is capable of being sintered at a temperature as low as 1,000°C or lower and co-sintered together with Ag or Cu, and gives a sintered body having a low permittivity and a high Q value and suitable for use in a high frequency region. SOLUTION: The composition for insulating ceramics includes a ceramic powder containing spinel (MgAl 2 O 4 ) and a glass powder containing silicon oxide in an amount of 30 to 60 mole% in terms of SiO 2 and magnesium oxide in an amount of 20 to 55 mole% in terms of MgO. The ceramic powder contains titanium oxide and copper oxide. When at least one kind of oxide selected from among the group consisting of boron oxide, CaO, SrO, BaO and ZnO at least one kind of alkali metal oxide selected from among the group consisting of aluminum oxide, Li 2 O, K 2 O and Na 2 O are added to the glass powder as additives, the amount of addition is limited to not greater than a specified amount.
