PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular state detecting device capable of detecting behavior change in slipping or locking of a tire. SOLUTION: A vehicular state is detected by using alignment torque Ta received from a road surface and a side slip angle β. Concerning the characteristic of torque/a slip angle, the alignment torque is proportional to the side slip angle when the side slip angle is small, and the alignment torque is decreased when the side slip angle becomes large. By using this characteristic, a standard value is obtained from linear inclination and the side slip angle in a range wherein the side slip angle is small. When a deviation from an actual measurement value becomes large, a vehicular state is determined as a behavior unstable state. When the inclination of the alignment torque to the side slip greatly differs from the inclination of an approximate line, the vehicular state is determined as an unstable state.
