PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating method of spent cutting oil-containing waste water, which gives little a small amount of sludge and is industrially advantageous. SOLUTION: This treating method includes a process for adding a cation type organic compound to the used cutting oil-containing waste water to coagulate a water insoluble component in the waste water and form coagulated particles, a process to add an anion type organic high polymer to allow the coagulated particles to grow to flocculated flock, and a process for separating formed flocculated flock. In this case, the used cutting oil-containing waste water incorporates 50-100 mg cutting oil per one liter of the waste water.
