    • Several variations of a toy projectile launcher apparatus for discharging EVA balls. The apparatus includes a housing, a ram movable in the housing, a carriage also movable in the housing, a negator spring, a handle for cocking the apparatus, and a lever pivotally mounted in the housing just behind a ball to be discharged. In operation, a user pulls the handle rearward and a connector engages the ram to pull the ram rearward. The ram abuts the carriage and when the ram moves rearward the carriage also moves rearward. The carriage is attached to the spring and extends the spring when the carriage moves rearward. At a predetermined location the connector disengages the ram, which is pushed forward by the carriage, which in turn is driven by the biasing force of the spring. Before striking the lever, the carriage is stopped and the ram, being mounted to the carriage to allow relative sliding forward movement, impacts the lever causing the lever to slap the ball to cause discharge. A variation uses a latch mechanism and trigger.

    • The present invention is directed to a trigger mechanism of an electronic weapon. The trigger mechanism eliminates the need of a shooter having to master the pulling of the trigger of a rifle with the tip of his index finger and also minimizes the importance of proper breathing techniques when firing the rifle. The trigger mechanism of the electronic weapon has two major components. The first is a mouth operated switch (20) that facilitates the firing of the electronic rifle. The second piece is the electronic rifle (16). The two pieces might be connected using an electrical cord (28) or a radio frequency.

An engagement slot is formed in the firing probe bore for mating engagement with a lower key housing of the firing assembly.

    • According to the present invention, a backstrap module is utilized in conjunction with a firearm having a security apparatus and a firing apparatus. The security apparatus authorizes operation of the firearm and generation of an electronic firing signal which is communicated to a firing probe of the firing apparatus. The backstrap module includes a molded shell which removably affixes the backstrap module to a frame of the firearm and houses the security apparatus. The backstrap module further includes a device for communicating the firing signal to the firing probe and provides for the energizing of the security apparatus and the firing apparatus.

The firearm of the present invention is programmed to enable firing only if safe and authorized firing conditions are determined. The electronic control (28) can be implemented in either a pistol (1) having an ammunition magazine (23), a multichambered handgun or a revolver.
