    • A connector clip (10, 10') defines a line-retaining slot (34) and is configured to receive a detonator (16) therein. The connector clip (10, 10') comprises a body member (12, 12') and a closure member (14, 14') which are mounted, one on the other, for movement relative to each other along a travel path between an open position in which the line-retaining slot (34) is accessible to lateral insertion therein of one or more signal transmission lines (68), and a closed position in which the line-retaining slot (34) is closed to secure such signal transmission lines (68) therein. One of the body member (12, 12') and the closure member (14, 14') defines a cavity within which at least part of the other of the body member (12, 12') and the closure member (14, 14') is encased during travel between the open position and the closed position.

    • A device for safely connecting the fuse (12, 14) of two firework devices (20, 22) is provided. The device has a tubular member, or connector (10), having a first and second end. The ends of the connector are each adaptable to receive a fuse. When the device is in operation, two fuses (12, 14), each from a separate firework, are inserted into the connector (10). This ensures that the flame from one fuse will be effectively transferred to the next. The device may also contain a primer (16) such as gunpowder within the interior of the connector to further ensure transmission of a flame from one fuse to the next.

    • This invention relates to a blast initiation assembly (10) including a length of shock tube (20), and lengths of safety cord (18) (22) which provide a time delay for propagating an explosives reaction. The assembly (10) includes one length of shock tube (20) with a first length of safety cord (18) connected to one end thereof, and a second length of safety cord (22) connected to the other end thereof. A detonator (12) for detonating an explosives composition is attached to the end of the first length of safety cord (18), and a detonator (28) with a clip (32) attached thereto is attached to the second length of safety cord (22). The first and second lengths of safety cord are selected to provide a required time delay. The clip (32) is arranged is for clipping to a length of shock tube on a similar blast initiation assembly, to join assemblies for sequential rock blasting.

    • The invention provides a shock tube connector block (1) comprising a hollow body providing an enclosure (6) affording transmission or propagation of a shock wave from a shock tube inlet (4) mounting to multiple shock tube outlet (5) mountings arranged to support a plurality of ends of outgoing shock tubes in suitable proximity to a bare end of an incoming shock tube. The mountings (4, 5) are provided in passages for respective tubes and each mounting (4, 5) includes an outwardly facing shoulder for location of an inner end of a shock tube (14), non-return tube securing means, and a shock tube (14) engaging watertight seal (16). The body is preferably produced in two halves (2, 3) from a single mould with a seal circumferential to the enclosure locatable therebetween and ultrasonically welded together. The invention extends to an associated method of providing a manifold branch in a shock tube (14), which comprises supporting a bare end of an incoming shock tube (14) in an enclosed body in dose proximity to ends of a plurality of outgoing shock tubes (14).
