    • A method of manufacturing a furniture body is disclosed herein. A release sheet, for example, a silicone rubber sheet, deposited with an uncured artificial stone mix is placed on a surface. A central core comprising, for example, paper honeycomb, is placed on the release sheet deposited with uncured artificial stone mix. Decorative materials, for example, ornamental glass, semiprecious stones, etc. may be included on the release sheet. Pressure may be applied to compact the artificial stone mix deposited with a backing of glass fiber and resin. The central core is wrapped with the release sheet deposited with the uncured artificial stone mix. The release sheet is removed after the deposited artificial stone mix is partially or fully cured over the central core. The wrapping provides a continuous surface of the artificial stone mix over the sides, edges, corners, and curved surfaces of the central core, thereby eliminating joint lines.

    • A method for making a cast of a foot comprises: mutually interconnecting a pair of housing parts (10) to define a moulding cavity about a foot/a lower leg (12); providing a sole support member (18) in a lower portion of the moulding cavity having an upper surface contoured to engage the sole of the foot/the lower leg (12); inserting the foot/the lower leg (12) into the moulding cavity; pouring a flowable moulding material(13) into the moulding cavity about the foot/the lower leg (12) and allowing it to solidify; unlocking the housing parts (10) and separating the mould into parts (14); reconstituting the parts (14) to define a casting cavity (16); relocking the housing parts (10); pouring a flowable casting material (15) into the casting cavity (16) and allowing it to solidify to form a cast of the foot/the lower leg (12); and forming the foot cast (17). This method can produce the suitable shoes.

    • Sheeting of synthetic polymeric material is formed on an endless peripheral surface (16) of a rotor (14) rotatable about a decumbent axis. The peripheral surface (16) is rotated past an applicator station (22) where a moulding material is sprayed or otherwise applied to the surface (16) . At a downstream reinforcing station (24) , reinforcing material such as roving or chopped strand mat is applied to the moulding material . Optionally also at the reinforcing station (24) , resin and catalyst, and a curing agent are applied to the moulding material. The moulding material is passed through a curing section (26) , whereafter the set and cured sheeting is stripped from the surface (16) , trimmed to a desired width (28) and coiled (32) into rolls (34) . A cross cutter (30) cuts the sheeting to length.
