    • A baling apparatus (10) is provided for forming large rectangular bales (B) of fibrous material, and includes a rectangular bale chamber (18) having an inlet (32) for receiving baling material beneath the bale chamber and an outlet (34) for discharging completed bales at the top of the bale chamber (18). Balable material is gathered from the surface of the field by a pick-up mechanism (22), formed into a mat (M) by clamping rollers (38, 40) and transported toward the bale chamber (18) by a conveying mechanism (26) and delivery mechanism (30). A compressing structure (20) then compresses the segment of baling material in a slow upward compression stroke into the bale chamber inlet (32). As a result, a rectangular bale (B) comprising successive horizontal layers if formed within the bale chamber (18). A dedicated structure (130) is provided for tying completed bales within the bale chamber (18) and discharging the bales (B) onto the surface of the field.

    • A measurer for crop yield per location is disclosed. In general, the crop yield measurer includes a crop collector for a field of crops. The crop collector includes a navigation satellite system location determiner to determine location information at periodic times during a crop collection process. The crop collector also includes a weighing mechanism to determine a weight of collected crops at the periodic times during the crop collection process. In addition, a database is used for storing the location information and the weight at the periodic times during the crop collection process. A crop yield overview generator is then utilized to provide a user accessible crop yield per location overview for the field of crops based on the information stored at the database.
