摘要： Methods and systems that facilitate data delivery to electronic devices are disclosed. One aspect pertains to data delivery to mobile devices. In one embodiment, a local server is provided at a particular location, such as at an establishment, venue, etc. The local server can operate to locally wirelessly transmit data to mobile devices within its vicinity. Typically, the mobile devices are associated with persons (users) at the particular location. The mobile devices, or their users, can control, request or influence the particular data content being delivered. The local server can also provide customized data to the mobile devices, individually or as a group. The customization can be based on location, characteristics, interests, preferences and/or requests of the users of the mobile devices.

摘要： Elements required for a digital television receiver are divided into a plurality of digital signal processor blocks and a host microprocessor block. The blocks are connected by general buses, through which commands and streams of data are transferred to control the operations of the blocks. An encryption encoder/decoder circuit is provided on each of the blocks to protect contents transferred through the buses. An encryption encoder/decoder circuit is also provided on an interface with plug-in extension cards so as to protect the contents output from the interface.

摘要： A production system for packaging aggregates of mixed media information (e.g. text, images, audio, and video) into addressable packets which are transmitted to receivers over a satellite network, with the information aggregates (IA's) displayed and arranged for use via an associated Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) file, or other such displays language file and associated interpreter. The HTML file, when interpreted and displayed, would provide an organized and easy to access presentation of the mixed-media files transmitted over the satellite network, whereby textual and graphic descriptions could be used to describe the file contents and HTML buttons would allow playback and/or viewing of the linked file information. The HTML file might also include a link to communications software for enabling data dialog with a site external to the receiving station. One example link would include software for a telephone connection. This connection could direct the transmission source station to send more information, as needed. Still other links would allow software stored locally at the receiving station to be accessed and used. A link might also be provided via the internet to external URL addresses. The IA groups and packets would also be useful for distributed, distant teaching systems, with feedback from the receiving sites provided through the communications link to the source station.

摘要： The invention system provides real-time audio-visual monitoring, supervision, and/or controlling of activities of remote users and of the USSR's workstations via a network by a human supervisor using a supervisor workstation for the purpose of verifiable skill testing (i.e., for standardized tests) with real time user activity monitoring, and in alternate embodiments of the present invention for: remote instruction, remote interviewing, remote system control and tuning, remote customer service and technical support. The system delivers the above functionality via one or more user workstations with multimedia and communication capabilities configured for bi-directional communication. Key novel features of the inventive system include but are not limited to: recording and storing an audio/video record of one or more user sessions as authentication for monitored user activities ( this enables a record of test-taking, on-line interview, etc), dynamic assignment of supervisors depending on user activity monitoring needs and supervisor availability ( including suspension of system and user activity if a supervisor is not available), and identity verification of the user(s). The inventive system includes other features and embodiments such as adaptive dynamic testing and improved audio-visual signal transmission from the user workstations. Finally, novel and optimized front end interfaces are provided for utilization of the inventive system by supervisors and users.
