摘要： Spectacles are described comprising two annular frame elements connected by a nose bridge, each containing a lens, as well as two spectacle side-pieces connected to each its own of the two frame elements, preferably via a hinge unit. The nose bridge is exchangeable and comprises, at each end, a coupling element which cooperates with a corresponding second coupling element provided on each of the two frame elements. Each of the two frame elements comprises an unbroken annulus in which the lens is mounted and retained in a circumferential slot at the inside of the frame element, so that the lens may be mounted and removed by manually pressing the lens into and out of the frame element, respectively. The first and second coupling elements are adapted for manual activation without the use of tools.

摘要： There is described a device for mutually fixing component parts of a frame (2) for spectacles, the device comprising a first fixing element which is capable of being connected by sliding coupling inside a second fixing element and locking means which are active between the first and second fixing elements, transversely to the coupling direction, the first fixing element comprising at least a first seat (10) which is capable of slidingly receiving a respective first magnet (11), the second fixing element comprising a second magnet (12) and a second seat (13), the second seat having such an extent as to receive, with reduced connection play, at least in the coupling direction, a portion of the first magnet (11) when the first magnet is moved, with partial extraction from the first seat (10), by the magnetic attraction force between the first and second magnets (11, 12) produced by the mutual positioning of the first and second magnets with opposite magnetic polarities so that the first magnet (11), by engaging the first seat (10) and the second seat (13), prevents the relative movement between the first fixing element and the second fixing element, in order to produce a relative locking between these elements.

摘要： A novel nose pad assembly (16) for eyeglasses (10) is provided wherein the support (36) and nose pad (38) are formed as a fully articulating ball and socket joint. The ball and socket joint provides excellent adjustability of the nose pads (38) in a simple mechanical construction. In a unique method of forming the nose pad assembly (16) the support structure (ball) (42) is formed in a first molding step and an adjustable pad member (38) is molded directly over the bass (42) of the support structure (36) in a second molding step. The present invention utilized in-mold-assembly techniques to reduce the assembly steps required to form such a nose pad assembly (16) while further resulting in a nose pad that has increased adjustability and utility. Alternately, the pad portion (38) may be formed first and the support structure (36) formed second. Also, the materials selected may include either hard or soft plastics to form either component.

摘要： A binocular viewing system provides images from electronic display elements to the left and right eyes of a user transmitted via right eye and left eye display assemblies connected by a nose bridging element. The binocular viewing system includes an interpupillary distance adjustment mechanism to accommodate multiple users. Accommodation for vision correction and a focus mechanism may also be provided. Also, the binocular viewing system provides a virtual image at a distance less than infinity, in an arrangement that also accommodates a range of interpupillary distances. In other aspects, the binocular viewing system incorporates face curvature to more comfortably fit a user's head, and places the electronic display elements close to the user's eye, either in the line of sight, or within the nose bridging element.
