    • Lighting apparatus provides emergency illumination independent of power source in compact attractive configuration. A capped circular and longitudinally slotted tube (10) contains a power supply (25) and charging electronics. Cylindrical outer envelopes (12) rotatably enclosing the tube (10) each have pivotally mounted lamp shells (15) at opposing ends. A spider plate attachable canopy (11) having integrally molded apertured inner lugs (52) has an outer integrally molded arm supported overhanging portion (56), the arm (56) of substantial cross section for supporting the tube weight centrally supporting the lighting fixture. The tube (10) has a longitudinal support slot (120) receiving a rectangular support piece (57) terminating from the canopy arm (56). End caps (19, 20) enclosing tube ends each have a circumferential groove (42) for receiving guide nubs (44) are disposed in spaced apart relationship on the inner circumference of the envelopes (12).

    • A solar powered light (10) adapted to be mounted under the eaves (13) of a building, a wall or the like for use in security applications. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the solar powered light comprises an adjustable configuration having a lamp with an infrared detector or sensor (12) rotatably mounted thereto and a photovoltaic or solar cell array (14) rotatably disposed at a remote end of an extension arm (76) movably attached to the lamp. Such a flexible arrangement allows the photovoltaic array to be positioned to receive direct sunlight. The sensor (12) activates the solar powered light (10) upon sensing infrared to illuminate the surrounding areas when a presence is sensed and turn it off when a presence is no longer sensed. In accordance with a second embodiment, the solar powered light does not include an infrared detector and provides continuous illumination for a given period of time. In accordance with a third embodiment, the solar powered light does not include an infrared detector, but includes a battery (16) having a higher capacity configured to provide illumination for extended periods of time. In accordance with a fourth embodiment, the solar powered light is configured to be used directly with a user's battery. The solar powered light utilizes a compact fluorescent bulb (20) and circuitry for providing longer lamp life, instantaneous illumination and eliminating flickering during start up.

    • This model refers to a continuous operation electrical votive lamp which, thanks to a special low-consumption electronic lighting system, is supplied by a photovoltaic panel (10) of small size, to be mounted on the body of the lamp (3). Another feature of this model is its special flame-like light resulting from a yellow LED and a special oscillating circuit. The choice of the yellow light, the special positioning of the LEDs (4, 6, 8, 9) and their typical flashing contribute to obtaining the flame-like effect. The new model is equipped with a special electronic circuit aimed at protecting the storage battery to avoid that it is damaged by a potential charge peak. Votive electrical lighting is widely used in cemeteries together with the traditional candles.
