摘要： An in-pipe apparatus for pipe inspection or maintenance is provided, including: a rotational deployment mechanism (130) to rotationally deploy a probe (530) or tool about an inner circumference of a pipe with respect to an axis of rotation; a radial deployment mechanism (120) to radially deploy the probe or tool in a radial direction from the axis of rotation toward a target point on the inner circumference of the pipe; and a passive centering mechanism (110) to passively align the axis of rotation with the axis of the pipe. The rotational deployment mechanism includes a motor to rotate the radial deployment mechanism about the axis of rotation. The apparatus includes a longitudinal deployment mechanism (140) to longitudinally deploy the probe or tool along the axis of the pipe, with the passive centering mechanism passively maintaining alignment of the axis of rotation with the pipe axis during the longitudinal deployment.

摘要： A pipe leak testing arrangement includes a device (12) having a sealing bags (14 and 15) joined by coupling (16). The bags when inflated form a seal volume chamber (18). The bags may not form a perfect seal and leakage past then could occur when differential pressure is present. The remaining portion of the pipe forms a test volume chamber (19). A transducer (20) measures differential pressure between the chambers, and transducer (21) measures the test chamber pressure. Measured pressure information is used by control device to track pressure change and adjust the seal pressure so as to maintain equal pressures even if the test pressure decays due to pipe fracture. In an alternative arrangement two separate devices with associated circuitry are provided to facilitate two temporary seal pressure chambers with the test chamber therebetween.
