    • The invention relates to a ball joint coupling for pivotally coupling two pipe parts, which ball joint coupling comprises: - a first coupling part with a central passage and an at least partially ball-shaped outer surface; - a second coupling part with an axially extending, central passage and an at least partially socket-shaped inner surface which corresponds with the at least partially ball-shaped outer surface in order to form a ball joint; wherein the second coupling part comprises a base part arranged around the central passage, and locking segments arranged around the central passage and pivotally on the base part, which locking segments each have a socket-shaped surface part, wherein the socket-shaped surface parts form at least a part of the at least partially socket-shaped inner surface of the second coupling part, wherein the locking segments are each pivotable around a tangential pivot axis between a first position, wherein the socket-shaped surface parts of the locking segments lie against the ball-shaped outer surface of the first coupling part, and a second position wherein the locking segments release the first coupling part for uncoupling of the second coupling part; and - a blocking ring which extends around the second coupling part and is axially displaceable between a blocking position, in which the blocking ring encloses the locking segments in the first position and blocks the pivoting movement of the locking segments, and a release position for releasing the locking segments, wherein a hinge is arranged between a first axial end of each locking segment and the base part, wherein the tangential pivot axis is formed by the hinge.

    • Coupling devices (10) are provided having a housing (12) comprised of first (14) and second (16) housing parts together forming an interior cavity (20) which houses a rotatable coupler (22), preferably comprised of first (24) and second (26) coupler segments. Each housing part includes one or more concave cavity wall portion(s) (44) which are adapted to slip fit engage with one or more convex outer surface wall portion(s) (48) of the coupler segments (24, 26) for rotatably retaining the coupler (22) within the housing cavity (20). The housing parts (14, 16) and coupler segments (24, 26) are mated along their respective mating/parting lines (50, 56) which have substantially the same configuration as the housing parts and coupler segments. The housing parts (14, 16) are uncoupled and partible when the coupler (22) is in a first position wherein the mating/parting lines (50, 56) positionally substantially correspond and the housing parts (14, 16) are coupled when the coupler (22) is in a second position wherein the mating/parting lines (50, 56) do not positionally substantially correspond. Preferably, the housing cavity (20) is spherical and the coupler (22) is spherical and comprised of substantially identical segments (24, 26). The coupler (22) can rotate about one or more fixed or multiple axes by mechanical, electromagnetic, or other suitable manners.

    • Ein Kugelgelenk (1) mit einem ersten Kupplungsteil (2) und einem damit gelenkig verbundenen zweiten Kupplungsteil (5), die miteinander verbundene Flüssigkeitskanäle aufweisen, wobei das zweites Kupplungsteil (5) mit einem kugeligen Stirnendbereich (6) zwischen einer formangepassten Gelenkpfanne (7) am ersten Kupplungsteil (2) und einem Gelenkkopf (8) an einem in der Innenhöhlung (4) des zweiten Kupplungsteiles (5) vorgesehenen Halteelements (9) verschwenkbar gehalten ist, wobei das Halteelement (9) die Flüssigkeitskanäle des ersten Kupplungsteiles (2) sowie des zweiten Kupplungsteiles (5) miteinander verbindet, und wobei das zweite Kupplungsteil (5) an seiner die Innenhöhlung (4) umgrenzenden Innenwandung eine Ringnut hat, in der eine Ringdichtung (13) vorgesehen ist. Für das erfindungsgemäße Kugelgelenk (1) ist kennzeichnend, dass an der Innenwandung des zweiten Kupplungsteiles (5) ein erster Ringabsatz (14) vorgesehen ist, dass in die Innenhöhlung (4) des zweiten Kupplungsteiles (5) ein ring- oder hülsenförmiges Einsetzteil (15) einsetzbar ist, und dass das Einsetzteil (15) vom ersten Ringabsatz (14) derart beabstandet ist, dass der Abstand zwischen dem ersten Ringabsatz (14) und dem dem ersten Ringabsatz (14) zugewandten Stirnrand (16) des Einsetzteils (15) die Ringnut bildet.
