    • The present invention relates to a fuel injection device, wherein a solenoid valve (6) is provided at a position closer to a fuel injection nozzle (3) and in the intermediate portion of an injection pipe (4) for allowing a fuel injection pump (1) having a plunger (1A) facing a pressurizing chamber (1D) and actuated by a cam (2) to communicate with the fuel injection nozzle (3), for on-off controlling the solenoid valve (6) through a controller (C) provided with a spark advance angle setting map and an injection timing setting map designed in accordance with an engine rotary speed (9) and a load (10), to thereby control the supply conditions of the fuel delivered under pressure from the fuel injection pump (1) to the fuel injection nozzle (3). Furthermore, in the fuel injection device according to the present invention, the provision of the solenoid valve (6) at the position closer to the fuel injection nozzle (3) makes it possible to minimize the dripping of the fuel at the time of completing the injection, occurence of HC is suppressed to a low degree, and fuel economy is improved. Further, in the fuel injection device according to the present invention, the control of the on-off timing of the solenoid valve (6) through the controller (C) makes it possible to obtain the best fuel injection pattern, decrease the noise level and reduce the occurence of NOx.
