摘要： Cutting elements for earth-boring tools may include a cutting table secured to a substrate. The cutting table may include a first region at least substantially free of an infiltrant, a second region comprising the infiltrant, and a passageway extending from an exterior partially through the first region. A distance between the exterior and a boundary between the first region and the second region, as measured from a major surface of the cutting table, may not be constant. Methods of making cutting elements for earth-boring tools may involve placing a sacrificial material among grains of a superabrasive material. The grains of the superabrasive material and the sacrificial material may be exposed to elevated temperature and pressure in a presence of a catalyst material to form a cutting table. The sacrificial material and a portion of the catalyst material may be removed from a first region of the cutting table.

Dabei ist vorteilhaft, dass der Öffnungsbereich eine längliche Erstreckung aufweist, dass die wenigstens eine Öffnung des Öffnungsbereichs mit einem Saugkasten verbunden ist, der an einem der Öffnung gegenüberliegenden Ende eine Anschlussöffnung für eine Verbindung mit der Pumpe aufweist, dass der von den Bohrwerkzeugen gelöste Boden im Öffnungsbereich durch die Öffnung von der Pumpe in den Saugkasten in einer Strömungsrichtung saugbar ist, dass sich der Saugkasten von der Öffnung hin zur Anschlussöffnung in der Breite verjüngt, und dass sich die Höhe des Saugkastens von der Öffnung hin zur Anschlussöffnung vergrößert.

The ram piston reamer apparatus implementing this procedure is also a subject of this invention.

摘要： An earth-boring bit includes a bit body threaded at its upper extent for connection to a drill string and a plurality of blades on the bit body, each blade having a leading edge and a trailing edge. A plurality of cutting elements is arranged on the leading edge of each blade and a junk slot is defined between pairs of adjacent blades. A surface texture may be formed on the surface of the junk slot, the surface texture being selected to alter a flow of drilling fluid through the junk slot. At least one milling element may extend at least partially across the junk slot between the trailing edge and leading edge of adjacent blades, wherein flow of cuttings generated by the cutting elements is impeded until the cuttings are disintegrated to a selected size.

When mounted on drilling tools, heat generated in the cutters by drilling action is transported away from heat generating regions through the diamond body's contact with fluid medium in the passage as well as through the diamond body itself with the body of the drilling tool functioning as a heat sink. Methods of production of the cutter are also disclosed.
