    • A hinge includes a first leaf member (12) with a pair of knuckles (20) receiving a hinge pin (14) therethrough. The knuckles (20) include a retainer member (22) which extends into the path of the pin. Annular grooves (38, 40) formed in the pin (14) receive the retainer member (22) to keep the pin from easily sliding in and out of the hinge. One of the grooves (40) includes a straight side (44) and a tapered side (46) while the second groove (38) includes a pair of tapered sides (42) for allowing the retainer member to slide over the second groove (38) but not over the first groove (40). In this manner, the pin (14) may not be forced beyond the retainer member (22) and is held in place even when pulled out of the first knuckle for removing secondly.

    • The invention relates to a hinge for a door or a hatch, preferably for a motor vehicle. The hinge comprises two hinge halves (1, 2), one (1) of which is provided with a pivot pin (6) and the other (2) of which is provided with a bearing portion (9) for hinge movement on the pivot pin (6). The pivot pin (6) is made with a partially spherical end portion (11) onto which the bearing portion (9) fits with a complementary shaped cavity, and a narrower neck portion (12). A locking means (18) is arranged to cooperate with the neck portion (12) of the pivot pin (6) and the bearing portion (9) to lock these parts against relative movement in the axial direction of the pivot pin (6). According to the invention, the bearing portion (9) comprises a bearing sleeve (13) for mounting on the pivot pin (6), a bearing housing (15), the inside of which fits over the outside of the bearing sleeve (13), as well as a fastener means (16) arranged to detachably fasten the bearing sleeve (13) to the bearing housing (15).
