摘要： A method of treating a reservoir penetrated by at least one well is provided. In accordance with the method, a consolidated solids pack is placed into a permeable zone of rock in the reservoir. The consolidated solids pack has a reduced permeability to water and a reduced mobility in the permeable zone. For example, when placed in the permeable zone in connection with a water flooding operation, the consolidated solids pack diverts the injectant from the permeable zone to other less permeable zones of the reservoir that contain oil.

摘要： A chemical packer composition having a polyurethane foam with nanoparticles or micron-sized particles for use as an annular chemical packer in openhole horizontal wells is provided. The chemical packer composition may be used in a horizontal well having a screen (for example, a gravel pack screen) and completed using an openhole completion. The chemical packer composition may include, for example, silica nanoparticles or sand micron-sized particles. The chemical packer composition may be placed in an annulus section defined by the wellbore and the screen that traverses one or more fluid producing zones. In some instances, a portion of the chemical packer composition may be selectively removed to open a fluid producing zone to the wellbore and form plugs blocking other fluid producing zones.

摘要： In a method to degrade filtercake in a hydrocarbon reservoir using downhole in-situ heat generation, a filtercake breaker, configured to degrade filtercake at a temperature, is mixed with a drilling fluid. The drilling fluid mixed with the filtercake breaker is flowed through a hydrocarbon reservoir in which a wellbore is being drilled. A filtercake forms in a portion of the hydrocarbon reservoir responsive to flowing the drilling fluid. A temperature of the portion of the hydrocarbon reservoir is less than the temperature at which the filtercake breaker is configured to degrade filtercake. Multiple filtercake chemicals are flowed to the portion of the hydrocarbon reservoir. The multiple filtercake chemicals, when mixed, are configured to react in an exothermic reaction to release heat to increase the temperature of the portion of the hydrocarbon reservoir to at least the temperature at which the filtercake breaker is configured to degrade filtercake.

The water-soluble interjacent complex is characterized in that it forms a solution in water that is free of insoluble polymer particles. The water-soluble interjacent complex is used in a method of treating a keratin based substrate, whereby a cosmetically acceptable medium is applied to the substrate and contains from 0.1-20 % by weight of the water-soluble interjacent complex.

摘要： A method for improving oil recovery within a subterranean formation that includes forming a barrier within the formation to isolate at least a portion of a first region from a proximate second region. The barrier is formed by introducing a first solution including an ammonium containing compound and a second solution including a nitrite containing compound into the formation. The first solution, the second solution, or both, further include a foaming agent. The compounds react to generate nitrogen gas in the presence of the foaming agent to generate a foam within a first region. The foam provides the barrier. Water is introduced into the formation. The barrier diverts the water away from the first region and into the second region. The water operates to displace at least a portion of a hydrocarbon present in the second region and discharge the hydrocarbon from the formation.
