摘要： A laminate material formed of an elastomeric polymer sheet and a nonwoven fabric sheet. The sheets are passed through a niproll assembly during lamination, one of the niprolls having a series of embossing points protruding therefrom, and the other niproll being substantially flat. The embossing points press selective areas of the preferably molten polymer sheet into the fabric sheet, encapsulating the fabric fibers and bonding thereto. The resulting material has points of bonding where penetration has occurred and areas of nonpenetration, providing adherence of the two sheets while permitting independent movement of the fibers and elastic properties. Preferably, a release agent is added to the elastomeric polymer to reduce the possiblity of the elastomer layer sticking to the nonwoven layer when the laminate is wound onto a supply roll.

This panel material uses (A) two molded FRP plates as upper and lower surface members, and (B) a high-density hard polyurethane foam layer as a core member formed between the two molded FRP plates by injection foaming, and having closed cells and a density of 0.2-0.5 g/cm. A method of manufacturing this panel includes the step of obtaining a sandwiched panel by injection foaming a raw hard polyurethane foam material in a gap between the two molded FRP plates set in a metal mold and thereby molding the foam material with these plates, and producing a sandwiched panel material by cutting this sandwiched panel to a predetermined size. This panel material can be used suitably, especially for floor materials for vehicles, such as a truck, a bus, railway vehicles and a cargo container.

At least the lowermost fabric ply (12) incorporates a protective coating to prevent wicking of inks, water and/or solvents through the blanket which might otherwise lead to swelling and delamination of the various plys. In addition, both the fabric plys and the compressible layer are at least partially coated with a matrix material (20) having dispersed therein a plurality of closed cells (26) formed, e.g., with the use of blowing agents or by adding thereto a plurality of expanded or expandable microspheres. Articles which may also be formed from the composite structure include gaskets, packing materials, flexible diaphragms or printing blankets.
