摘要： The present invention relates to methods for forming foamed polymeric articles and articles produced by such methods. In particular, the invention relates to a method of forming a foamed polymeric article comprising a foamed polymeric material (17) sandwiched between two layers (7,13) in a mold (1,9), wherein the polymeric material comprises a chemical blowing agent, and the expansion of the polymeric material during foaming causes the outer layers of the article to deform so as to provide good contact with the surfaces of the mold. The present invention further relates to foamed polymeric articles formed by the method of the invention having complex surface geometry and/or good continuity of the foam.

The successive and serial injection of polyurethape portions and the following foaming enables the poiyurethane to foam (expand) up to 180 degrees. In this way,.the compressive stress on the inner side of the cover plates is minimized. At the same time, a fixation of the plate units (cover plates) of the sandwich panels via so-called "foam bridges" is provided- The combination of the relatively low compression stress on the inner side of the cover plates and the formation of "foam-bridges" eliminates or reduces the need for using strong jigs or the similar devices for fixation of the cover plates of the sandwich panels during the polyurethape injection itself.

摘要： A process for preparing multilayered foam articles such as an automotive seat or a sound/thermal insulation panel is disclosed. A mold is arranged so that the bottom surface of the mold is flat or inclined to the horizontal plane. A first liquid formulation designed to produce an elastomer is poured into the mold from a mixing head onto the seating zone of the mold and pouring a second liquid formulation designed to produce a foam is poured into the mold from the same or different mixing head outlet. The second liquid foam formulation is allowed to spread on top of the first liquid formulation, the mold is closed and the materials are allowed to rise and cure in the mold.
