摘要： The present invention is directed to mounting clips and structures to support the mounting clips. One such clip is substantially annular in nature. The mounting clip may have internal grip strips within its interior to better enable the clip to engage the supported item. Other clips involve the use of a suction cup and other designs. The mounting clips may be used with a tripod or a monopod, and in some embodiments a tripod with flexible legs utilizing ball and socket joint connectors which, when interconnected, form a flexible assembly. Each connector includes a body with a first and second end portion. An external socket engaging surface is provided at one end of the body. The other end of the body has an internal cavity. The socket engaging surface of one connector is snapped into the internal cavity of another to interconnect the connectors. In some embodiments, the ball and socket joint connectors utilize an over-molded strip around the outside of the connector to facilitate in their use for gripping.

摘要： An adjustable fixation clamp having first and second clamp assemblies positioned about a shaft. The clamp assemblies may each have a pair of vise plates. Each pair of vise plates may define at least two receiving portions and insertion portions intersecting the receiving portions. The receiving portions of one clamp assembly may receive at least two fixation components such as screws, pins or wires. The receiving portions of the other clamp assembly may receive at least one connector such as a rod, bar and/or ring. A biasing structure may be positioned between the first and second clamp assemblies and may allow for the fixation components to be snapped into the receiving portions through the insertion portions. Two or more adjustable fixation clamps may be used to form an external fixation system. At least two screws, pins or wires may be inserted into bone and one of the clamp assemblies may be attached thereto. A guide may be used for insertion of screws, pins or wires into bone. The other clamp assembly may be connected to a rod, bar or ring. Thereafter, the clamp assemblies may be oriented relative to each other and locked in place.

摘要： A pipe coupling (10) for improved pull-apart strength of pipe lap joints. A clamping band (24) is applied to the outside pipe (14) around the overlap region (18) of the pipes (12, 14). An attachment (26) is applied around the inside pipe (12) and the two bands are connected together by a linkage (34) extending alongside the pipes. Preferably, a sealing structure (22) is provided on the outer pipe (14) in the overlap region (18) such that sealing engagement between the outside and inside pipes is obtained when the clamping band (24) is tightened. When the pipes (12, 14) are subjected to pull-apart forces, the linkage (34) resists slippage or pull-apart motion. If there is slippage, more will occur on the side opposite the linkage and an oblique relationship of the pipes (12, 14) results. This produces a binding action between the pipes (12, 14) with increased frictional resistance to the pull-apart forces.
