摘要： An inexpensive and durable polyelectrolyte composition which is characterized by consisting of both an aromatic polymer containing carbonyl linkages and/or sulfonyl linkages in the backbone chain and bearing cation-exchange groups and a fused salt and which exhibits a high ionic conductivity even in the absence of water or a solvent. The aromatic polymer is preferably an aromatic polyether sulfone comprising specific structural units and bearing cation-exchange groups, an aromatic polyether ketone comprising specific structural units and bearing cation-exchange groups, an aromatic polyether sulfone block copolymer consisting of at least one hydrophilic segment bearing cation-exchange groups and at least one hydrophobic segment free from cation-exchange groups, and/or an aromatic polyether ketone block copolymer consisting of at least one hydrophilic segment bearing cation-exchange groups and at least one hydrophobic segment free from cation-exchange groups. The use of such a block copolymer as the aromatic polymer gives polyelectrolyte compositions which are excellent in maintenance of structure even at high temperature.

The dispersed phase comprises (a) a particulate dispersed polyolefin phase which is comprised of a polyolefin and has a minor diameter of not greater than 0.5 νm, the outer surface of the dispersed polyolefin phase (a) having, cohered thereto, particles of at least one copolymer selected from the group consisting of a copolymer of a vinyl aromatic compound and a conjugated diene compound and a hydrogenation product thereof, and (b) a particulate dispersed copolymer phase having a minor diameter of not greater than 0.3 νm, which is comprised of at least one copolymer selected from the above-mentioned group and is dispersed in the continuous phase (1) and not cohered to the dispersed polyolefin phase (a). The shaped resin article has not only remarkably improved weld-line toughness and delamination resistance but also excellent resistance to heat, impact and chemicals.

摘要： A soft thermoplastic, elastomeric alloy containing a thermoplastic, elastomeric block copolymer material, a polyethylene, and a polyphenylene ether material, prepared by blending in an extruder with an L/D ratio equal to or greater than 30 to 1. The alloy comprises a blend of from about 80 to 98 % thermoplastic, elastomeric block copolymer material; from about 1 to 10 % by weight of low melt index, highly crystalline polyethylene; and from about 1 to 10 % by weight of polyphenylene ether. The material demonstrates excellent creep resistance at elevated temperature as well as a variety of other excellent physical properties.
