摘要： Methods and systems for vector combining power amplification are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a plurality of signals are individually amplified, then summed to form a desired time- varying complex envelope signal. Phase and/or frequency characteristics of one or more of the signals are controlled to provide the desired phase, frequency, and/or amplitude characteristics of the desired time-varying complex envelope signal. In another embodiment, a time-varying complex envelope signal is decomposed into a plurality of constant envelope constituent signals. The constituent signals are amplified equally or substantially equally, and then summed to construct an amplified version of the original time-varying envelope signal. Embodiments also perform frequency up-conversion.

摘要： A modulated signal is connected to a full bridge switching amplifier (16, 18, 28, 30) and is compensated to remove a predetermined frequency and its odd harmonics. The compensation inverts and delays (26) a signal that is connected to a first half of the full bridge and applies the delayed inverted signal to a second half of the full bridge. By delaying by an odd number of half cycles, the carrier and its odd harmonics are cancelled because the same signal exists on both sides of the full bridge output. When these two same signals are subtracted by the full bridge action, the carrier and odd harmonics are suppressed. Spectral nulls may be provided for various signal applications, not just audio, and when various types of modulation techniques are used, such as PWM and PDM.

摘要： Techniques for mute pattern injection for a pulse-density modulation microphone are described. In one or more implementations, a pulse-density modulation (PDM) microphone includes a transducer that receives a pressure wave and produces an analog signal that represents the pressure wave, an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that receives the analog signal from the transducer and converts the analog signal into a digital PDM signal. The PDM microphone also includes a pattern generator that generates a digital mute signal, a controller that outputs control signals, and a multiplexer that receives the control signals, the digital mute signal, and the digital PDM signal. The multiplexer transmits the digital mute signal or the digital PDM signal, responsive to the control signals.

In one aspect, a PWM output circuit includes a PWM modulator that operates based on a square wave signal instead of a sawtooth or triangular wave signal. In another aspect, a PDM output circuit includes a PDM modulator that uses variable reference voltages to reduce variations in switching frequency. In yet another aspect, a dual-mode output circuit supports both PWM and PDM and includes a pulse modulator and a class D amplifier. The pulse modulator performs PWM on an input signal if a PWM mode is selected and performs PDM on the input signal if a PDM mode is selected. The class D amplifier receives a driver signal from the pulse modulator and generates an output signal.
