A conventional display was clear in displaying pictures and characters, deficient of novel colors, thin, light-weight and rigid, did not have self-emission colors, was vulnerable to vibrating impact, and had a low attractiveness. A display panel is fitted to a fitting member formed in such a manner that its portion facing the display panel serves as a display portion, ultra-violet rays are applied to fluorescent pictures and characters on the display panel, an ultrathin electroluminescent planar phosphor (EL) is used by eliminating a moisture absorbing layer and a moisture-proofing film, clear, novel and various colors are generated by self-emission colors, and a display member can be erased and reproduced depending on locations, time and purpose. This rigid and light-weight display can be used as mobile advertisement medium over a broad range, business talks based on ads carried by cars can be directly made over a PHS (personal handy telephone system) and a portable telephone, and this display can be used as a stationary/mobile ad medium by both individuals and business firms.
