    • An apparatus (10) for corrugating material includes an upper shaft (12) rotating about a first longitudinal axis and a lower shaft (16) rotating about a second longitudinal axis. Either the upper shaft (12), the lower shaft (16), or both shafts are constructed of a flexible material. At least one upper corrugation roll (20) is secured to the upper shaft (12), and at least one lower corrugation roll (22) is secured to the lower shaft (16). The upper corrugation roll (20) and the lower corrugation roll (22) are interspersed relative to each other and spaced such that the material is fed between the upper (20) and the lower (22) corrugation rolls to corrugate the material. Materials of varying rigidities may be passed between the upper (20) and lower (22) corrugation rolls such that lighter weight material (24) is corrugated while heavier weight material (26) deflects the flexible shaft or shafts to reduce corrugation.

    • An electrophotographic print engine includes a photoconductor drum (20) that interfaces with a transfer drum (48) to form a transfer nip therebetween. Paper is disposed in a paper feed path (242) for traversal through the nip between two precurl rollers (242) and (244). The durometers of the two rollers (242) and (244) are different, such that one roller will cause the other to compress. This causes the paper to have a curvature bias in the direction of the curvature of the drum (48). The paper is then fed into an attachment nip formed between an attachment roller (198) and the drum (48). The paper is adhered thereto by electrostatic forces with the curvature of the paper allowing smaller forces to be utilized. In a multi-color print operation, the paper is maintained on the drum (48) for a number of passes until all images have been transferred thereto from the drum (20). A picker (248) then extracts the paper from the drum (48) and feeds it into a fuser mechanism. The fuser mechanism has two rollers (256) and (258) which apply a curvature bias in the opposite direction to that provided by the precurl rollers (244) and (246) to return the paper to a substantially planar conformation.

    • A single sheet page printer for recto-verso printing on record carriers (1) comprises a flattening device for flattening convexities in the record carrier (3) due to the effects of pressure and temperature in the fixing station (F). The smooth, flat shape of the record carrier is restored by means of a deformation in the three-dimensional region.
