摘要： The present disclosure provides a system and method for inferring one or more physical property parameters of a subsurface media by inverting converted wave data acquired during a seismic survey. Composite seismic traces are generated at a plurality of survey azimuths (step 609). These composite traces are composed such that their amplitudes are free of effects of subsurface anisotropy. At least one of the generated composite seismic traces is then inverted by isotropic inversion to determine a property parameter of the subsurface media (step 623).

摘要： A computer-implemented method for updating subsurface models including: using an offset continuation approach to update the model, and at each stage defining a new objective function where a maximum offset for each stage is set, wherein the approach includes, performing a first stage iterative full wavefield inversion with near offset data, as the maximum offset, to obtain velocity and density or impedance models, performing subsequent stages of iterative full wavefield inversion, each generating updated models, relative to a previous stage, wherein the subsequent stages include incrementally expanding the maximum offset until ending at a full offset, wherein a last of the stages yields finally updated models, the subsequent stages use the updated models as starting models, and the full wavefield inversions include constraining scales of the velocity model updates at each stage of inversion as a function of velocity resolution; and using the finally updated models to prospect for hydrocarbons.

摘要： A method is described for of creating a high-resolution earth model of a geological medium. The method includes generating a long-wavelength anisotropic velocity model using tomographic inversion of seismic data gathers, accessing an anisotropic attenuation model, and correlating the long-wavelength velocity model with the anisotropic attenuation model to produce a long-wavelength velocity and attenuation model. The method further includes performing prestack depth migration on the seismic data gathers using the long-wavelength velocity and attenuation model to produce seismic image gathers, applying a dip-consistent filter to the seismic image gathers, and transforming the one or more filtered seismic image gathers to the time domain. The method further includes generating a full-band impedance model by performing impedance inversion of the filtered seismic image gathers in the time domain using the long-wavelength velocity and attenuation model. The full-band impedance model is used for detecting fluid pressure anomalies in the geological medium.
