    • A cooler (1) for cooling particulate material from a kiln, wherein the material upon entry into the cooler (1) is distributed to a material bed on a stationary supporting surface (11) in the form of a tray, while cooling gas, such as atmospheric air, is blown up through the material bed from injectors in the tray in a uniform and evenly distributed manner.
