    • A multi-stage cryocooler (100) includes a concentric second-stage pulse tube expander (130) in which a pulse tube (132) is located within a second-stage regenerator (131). In one embodiment, an inner wall of the regenerator also functions as an outer wall of the pulse tube. In another embodiment, there is an annular gap between an inner wall of the regenerator and an outer wall of the pulse tube. The gap may be maintained at a low pressure, approaching a vacuum, by placing the gap in fluid communication with an environment around the cryocooler, such as the low-pressure environment of space. The integrated second-stage structure, with the pulse tube within the annular regenerator, provides several potential advantages over prior multi-stage cryocooler systems.

    • The invention relates to a device for the recondensation by means of a cryogenerator of low-boiling gases of the gas evaporating from a liquid gas container. The inventive device comprises one or at least two continuous cooling stages, the so-called cold top. Every stage is a pulse tube cooler whose heat transfer between the regenerator and the pertaining pulse tube is embedded in an exposed cold surface. The entire cold top is flanged only on the outer recipient of the device and projects into the interior in the neck tube of the device. The last cold surface of the cold top is located at the end of the neck tube and is exposed in the vapor room above the liquid gas cold bath. The other cold surfaces are opposite a heat transfer ring mounted on the neck tube. The respective opposite front faces engage with each other without contacting each other in any place while forming a gap so that a free passage is guaranteed from the vapor room via the liquid gas bath to the flange of the cold top in the neck tube. The two components regenerator, pulse tube of every pulsed tube cooling stage are covered with a heat shield that can be a poorly thermoconductive covering only resting thereon or an annular vacuum chamber whose outer wall contacts the sheathing component only in certain positions or only across short distances in a linear manner.

    • A two-stage pulse tube refrigerator comprises a pressure wave generator-compressor (32), first stage (16) and second stage (18) regenerators, first stage (12) and second stage (14) pulse tubes, heat exchangers (20, 22, 24, 26) and a hybrid phase shift mechanism for the first (12) and second stage (14) pulse tubes.     • The present invention relates to a pulse tube cryocooler (PTC) comprising a regenerator having a cold end (20a) and a hot end, a pulse tube (18) having a cold end (20b) and a hot end, and a reservoir (26). The hot end of the regenerator is connected or connectable with a compressor and the cold end of the regenerator (14) is in fluid communication with the cold end of the pulse tube (18). The PTC (42) comprises a reservoir-flow path (28) connecting the hot end of the pulse tube (18) and the reservoir (26) and a bypass-flow path (30) connecting the hot ends of the regenerator (14) and the pulse tube (18), wherein the reservoir-flow path (28) and the bypass-flow path (30) comprise a first and second flow restriction means (50, 54), respectively. The PTC (42) further comprises a holding structure (44) to which the hot ends of the regenerator (14) and the pulse tube (18) are mounted, wherein the bypass-flow path (30) is formed inside the bulk of the holding structure (44).
