    • A hot water heater comprises a hot water tank, a supply pipe to be connected to the public water mains and a discharge pipe to be connected to a tap. The hot water tank has a circumferential wall which encloses the interior of the tank and which is provided with a heating element disposed inside the hot water tank and with a temperature control device. The circumferential wall of the tank comprises a part which is bellows-shaped so as to be deformable under pressure, thus enabling the tank to expand and contract. The bellows-shaped part of the tank wall is surrounded by a gas chamber containing a gas under pressure, which is capable of balancing the expansion of the tank. The invention further relates to a method for supplying hot water.

    • A low-pressure hot water supply unit (1 ) is provided comprising a low- pressure water heater including a storage tank (3, 31 ) wherein the water heater has associated with it a low-pressure cold water supply container (4, 21, 52, 41). The unit has an overflow or relief outlet (1 1 ) communicating with the interior of either the cold water supply container thereby enabling overflow from the storage tank to form part of a cold water supply or a separate collection chamber (20, 30) communicating with the storage tank. The low-pressure water heater preferably has a cold water supply container carried on top of the water heater. The water supply container typically has a float controlled valve (5) associated therewith for maintaining a predetermined minimum water level (6) within the cold water supply container. The inlet passage supplying water from the cold water supply container to the lower region of the storage tank of the water heater is preferably configured to form an anti-thermo-siphon loop (8a). The low- pressure water heater may be a solar water heater or a solar assisted water heater.

    • A hot water dispensing system includes a water tank having a heat source for heating water in the tank. The tank has a cold water inlet and a hot water outlet, and an expansion chamber is connected to the water tank. A faucet is connected to the hot water outlet of the tank. The faucet has an actuator for selectively dispensing hot water from the faucet as desired by a user. An aspirator is situated between the expansion chamber and the water tank, with an inlet coupled to the cold water inlet, an outlet communicating with the water tank and a vent opening in fluid communication with the expansion chamber. A flow control device is in fluid communication with the cold water inlet. The flow control device may be received in a pocket defined in the aspirator.

    • A liquid heating and storage system comprising means for heating cold water, container means for storing the heated water and outlet means which extends from a position close to the top of the container means through an opening at or adjacent to the bottom of the container means. The system comprises a cylinder (10) surrounded by an insulation layer (14) and mounted on a base plate (16) by means of suitable seals and fixings. All connections and appendages to the container are routed through the base plate (16) so that there is little or not heat loss through the insulation layer (14) surrounding the cylinder (10). A heater (18) is provided within the cylinder (10) to heat the water contained therein. Hot water is delivered from the container to an insulated tube (20) which extends vertically from an opening the base plate (16), the inlet of the insulated tube (20) being positioned near the top of the container close to the domed portion (12). The system is self-regulating with regard to water expansion due to changes in temperature.
