    • Described is an overhead lighting device (10) that slides on a track (12) that may be continuous and has a releasable brake (20). A light bar (14) comprising a plurality of light sources (16) is in movable contact with the track (12). The releasable brake (20) has a first position that locks the light bar (14) in place and a second position that allows the light bar (14) to move freely. The light bar (14) may move from a position parallel to the track (12) to a hinged position that allows a user to position the light bar (14) as much as perpendicular to the track. Members (32) to mount the device (10) are flexible to facilitate packaging and shipping of the device (10), where the members (32) are sleeved (34) with a material that can be made rigid upon installation by, for example, the use of resin-impregnated materials such as knit fiberglass, foam, or cloth or the use of thermoset plastics.

    • This invention relates to a lighting device for illuminating a task area. The lighting device comprises at least one light-source and a reflector arrangement comprising reflecting surface portions arranged to receive light from the light-sources and to redirect the light towards the task area. Furthermore, the reflecting surface portion comprises a plurality of curved segments. The light sources and the reflector arrangement are arranged such that in the cross-section, a distance from the light-source to the reflecting surface portion increases along the cross-section in a direction from a first end to a second end of the reflecting surface portion, the second end being closer to the task area than the first end. Furthermore, a radius of curvature of the reflecting surface portion varies non-monotonically along the cross-section, whereas the radius of curvature within each curved segment varies monotonically in the same cross-section.

    • A light head is mounted on a common base, and includes a light source in a mounting base. The base is mounted on a collapsible elongated pole, and the pole is for mounting on an outside wall of a carrying case. There is a carrying handle for the case, an electrical power outlet mounted on a wall, base or lid of the case and for plugging in an electrical wire to power the light head. The interior of the case is for locating a rechargeable battery, and the battery when charged, supplies power to the power outlet such that the light head can be powered. Recharging can be via either a 12V DC automobile or a 110 AC power supply. The carrying handle is extendible; and retractable, and in the retraction mode is essentially within the general perimeter space of the case. The case includes a pair of pulley wheels, the wheels being for facilitating the moving of the case.

    • A lighting fixture for reducing glare and darkspots on ceilings and walls. The lighting fixture includes a louver housing for supporting a plurality of fluorescent or high intensity discharge lamps. The lighting fixture further includes a first set of elongated, parallel, and spaced-apart reflectors; and a second set of elongated, parallel, and spaced-apart reflectors intersecting the first set of reflectors at a 90° degree angle for forming an open reflector grid therein.
