    • The present invention discloses a form work (100) for casting a curved beam (111) comprising a first panel (101a) and a second panel (101b), which are vertically raised and arranged in an opposing position, defining a hollow space in between the opposing inner surface of the panels (101) for casting the beam (111); a plurality of crosspiece (102) mounted on the outer surface of the panels (101) and horizontally extending from one edge to another edge of the panel (101) that each crosspiece ( 102) is spaced apart from each other in a substantially equal distance; a plurality of horizontally spaced tracks (103) fabricated on each of the crosspiece (102), whereby position of the tracks (103) of each crosspiece (102) are substantially identical; a plurality of fasteners (104), each defined by an elongate body with a first tip for engaging onto each of the track (103) and a second tip for connecting to a force generator (106); and a plurality of columns (105), each connecting the fasteners (104) at the upper position to the adjacent fasteners (104) at the lower position of the panels (101); wherein the panels (101) are fashioned to slide against the columns (105) that are connected to the fasteners (104) through the tracks (103) to negate in-plane tension or compression when the panels (101) are shaping into a smooth curvature upon receiving a pull or push force exerted by the force generator (106) in a direction transverse to the panels (101).

    • A prop (10) for supporting formwork (210, 220) for use in forming a concrete slab comprises a base plate (12) including means (28) for anchoring the base plate to ground using ground engaging means (29). A face plate (14) is hinged to the base plate. The face plate (14) defines a means for attaching a board to the side plate, typically in the form of an array of slots (36). An adjustable prop arm (18) extends between the base plate (12) and the face plate (14) for fixing and maintaining the orientation of the face plate relative to the base plate. The prop includes means (30, 32, 34) for controlled adjustment of the position of the base plate relative to the ground engaging means. Typically, the prop (10) will be made of steel, although other suitable metals or materials could be used. The means for anchoring the base plate to ground may comprise one or more star shaped apertures (28) formed in the base plate -sections having three points and the ground engaging means may comprise star pickets (29).

    • This invention provides improved joiner means for interconnecting lengths of hollow sideforms (11, 12) in end to end or orthogonal relationship of a form work assembly. A joiner piece (13) is provided with outwardly projecting spigots (14, 15) which slidably locate in a sockets or cavities (17, 18) formed in the ends of the sideforms (11, 12). Each of the spigots (14, 15) has a skeletal profile comprised of outwardly projecting flanges (21, 22) which project to opposite sides of a central vertical web (20), with the flanges (21, 22) making edge or line contact with the inner surfaces of the sockets (17, 18) so as to provide longitudinally extending clearance passages or channels between each spigot and its associated socket. This minimises the likelihood of the spigot being "cemented" in place after the concrete has set. In another embodiment of the invention, the inner walls of the sockets are formed with inwardly projecting ribs or flanges which make edge contact with outer surfaces of the spigots.
