摘要： An improved apparatus for the production of fancy yarns comprises a first frame (10) holding a plurality of production units (1), each comprisisng a feeding group (15) and/or drafting group of one or more yarns and/or roving; first spinning means (16); rotary means (20) around a vertical axis; located downstream to said first spinning means and acting, in one of two operating conditions of the apparatus, as forming means of a first yarn (101); a rail (22), vertically movable with alternate motion along supports (24) located in the lower part of said first frame (10) and supporting, for each unit (1), a ring (23) for the yarn take-up on a tube (50), associated in a removable way to said rotary means (20), thus permitting, in the second operating condition of the machine, to form a cop (29) of a second yarn (102). A second frame (30) is arranged in front fo said first frame (10), holding, for each production unit (1), a winding groupd (32) for the take-up on cone (31) of first yarn (101).

摘要： A method and apparatus for producing randomly variegated multiple strand wrapped yarn in twisting together two or more yarns (16) at a plurality of yarn twisting stations. At each station a pneumatic twisting head (26) is disposed in which randomly turbulent air currents are created in a chamber (57) in the twisting head (26) by compressed air flowing into the chamber in the twisting head by compressed air flowing into the chamber (57) from a manifold (24) through bores (50) in the twisting head (26), thereby randomly twisting together two or more yarns (16) in the chamber (57). The yarns (16) which have been twisted together are wrapped with a binder yarn (102) and then taken up over a plurality of traversing drums (30) commonly mounted on a shaft (34) which is driven by alternating electric current motor (36) controlled by a control device (40) which operates to start and restart the motor (36) on a predetermined cycle including a variation of the electrical input sufficient to result in randomly unpredictable inertia resistance of the traversing drums (30) to rotational speed variation, thereby creating randomly unpredictable take-up of the yarns to produce non-uniform random twist in the yarns. The yarn produced has various lengths of opposite twist with varying degrees of twist and sections of no twist and section of varying wrap, and the fabric produced with the yarn is randomly variegated with no repeating pattern.
