摘要： The invention relates to a process for the preparation of mixtures containing bitumen and thermoplastic polymer at a high concentration, stable during storage, with particular characteristics of easy processability and movability which, once diluted, allow modified bitumens to be obtained with high performance characteristics. In particular, the process allows mixtures containing bitumen, thermoplastic polymer and wax, to be prepared, wherein the polymer is in a quantity varying from 5 to 30% by weight with respect to the weight of the mixture consisting of bitumen and polymer, and the wax is in a quantity varying from 4.7 to 16.7% by weight with respect to the weight of the total mixture, and comprises reacting a concentrated mixture (A), stable during storage, containing bitumen and from 5 to 30% by weight of thermoplastic polymer, with a hydrocarbon wax containing at least 40 carbon atoms and having a melting point of at least 700C, in a weight ratio between the mixture (A) and wax ranging from 100:5 to 100:20, at a temperature ranging from 160 to 2000C and for a time ranging from 15 minutes to 7 hours, preferably from 15 to 120 minutes. An object of the invention also relates to new mixtures containing bitumen and thermoplastic polymer at a high concentration and mixtures obtainable from these by dilution.

摘要： Storage stable asphalt paving pellets that contain recycled asphalt shingle material and, optionally, RAP fines, ground tire rubber, and the like. Methods for making and utilizing the storage stable asphalt paving pellets are also disclosed. A typical pellet includes a core and an outer shell. The core may include recycled asphalt shingle material and an asphalt binder material (e.g., bitumen). The outer shell, which may include a number of different materials such as, but not limited to, mineral fines, ground plastic fines, clays, and the like, is configured to prevent the asphalt pellets from sticking to each other or to adjacent surfaces during storage. The storage stable asphalt paving pellets can be manufactured at a central facility and then stored at a job site, a warehouse, or the like until they are needed for the preparation of asphalt paving material.

摘要： A Performance Grade sulfur-extended asphalt binder emulsion is made by combining a viscosifier, an emulsifier, a Performance Grade sulfur-extended asphalt binder, optionally a saponification agent, and a base aqueous solution. During creation of the asphalt emulsion, none of the components or combinations of them exceeds 275 °F. A Performance Grade sulfur-extended asphalt binder emulsion residue is made by treating the Performance Grade sulfur-extended asphalt binder emulsion using the Texas Department of Transportation Evaporation Recovery Procedure. A Performance Grade sulfur-extended asphalt binder composition is made by combining free or element sulfur, a linear alkane material, optionally a saturated-backbone polymer modifier, optionally a non-aqueous acid, and. a base asphalt. During creation of the asphalt binder, none of the components or combinations of them exceeds 275 °F.
