In one embodiment, a method for fabricating a formed glass article may include forming a glass ribbon (110), forming a parson, and shaping the parson to form a glass article (200), e.g. a container. The glass article may be attached to the glass ribbon at an attachment region (222) defining an edge of the glass article. The process may also include contacting the attachment region with a focal line (223) of a laser beam (220) and separating the glass article from the glass ribbon at the attachment region. The attachment region may be perforated by the laser beam and the focal line may be substantially perpendicular to the plane of the glass ribbon.

摘要： A one-step molding process for forming glass products with curved surface(s) includes: melting the glass ores into liquid state in a stove; and then removing resulting glass plate from the stove as it has not been hardened completely; subsequently, cutting the plate into glass blank(s) according to predetermined size; the cut glass blank(s) then being pressed into glass product(s) with curved surface while the product(s) undergoing cooling to make themselves hardening and into end products; finally, removing the diesinking end glass products with curved surface(s) out of the manufactural system. The present invention makes use of a die sinking press device, which is equipped with fixtures located in two service position. The blanks be transferred between the two service position and pressed fleetly. This invention ensures that the process from feeding ores to removing out end products can be conducted continuously, and the process is succinct, high efficiency and economic. Moreover, the quality of the products can be well controlled during the process, the surface smoothness of the end glass products is good, the raw materials and the cost will be saved. Particularly, with regard to the production of curved surface glass, such as reflective mirror, which is coated with functional layer(s), the process will be environment friendly and safety since the functional layer(s) will be coated after the curved surface glass is molded by press mold.
