摘要： A label applicator for a print and apply labeler comprises a linear actuator having a reciprocally movable piston rod that is connected to an electrically conductive mounting plate. A vacuum manifold assembly is resiliently suspended from the mounting plate by a plurality of spring members. A resilient electrical contact is affixed to and insulated from an upper base member of the vacuum manifold assembly. It extends toward, but short of, the electrically conductive mounting plate. When a compressive force is applied to the object to be labeled by the applicator sufficient to bring the resilient contact against the mounting plate, a signal is sent to a controller for the linear actuator to cause reversal of its direction of movement. The resilient spring members effectively establishes the amount of force with which a gummed label, momentarily held by the vacuum manifold assembly, will be tamped onto the product being labeled.
