The apparatus permits a fast and gentle alignment of elongate articles within the chamber, and it ensures generally, irrespective of the shape of the articles, an optimum filling of the transportation pockets (8) formed between the carriers (4) of the discharge conveyor and consequently a high utilization of the capacity of the conveyor.

    • A bucket elevator conveyor comprises a frame housing (1) incorporating a track to route a pair of parallel chains (2) carrying buckets (3) pivotally mounted (11a, 30) therebetween through an endless circuit including loading (14) and discharge (20) stations.
