摘要： A beverage can cover includes a disk-shaped member with an aperture spaced radially from its center and conforming with a standard opening on an aluminum can for forming a seal with the upper portion of the can. The cover includes a plug sized to cooperate with the aperture to form a fluid-tight reusable seal, and the plug is tethered to the disk-shaped member with an integrally formed detachable strip mounted about a circumferential edge of the disk-shaped member. The tether and plug are separated from the cover when needed by tearing thin attachment means such as a web or tabs, releasing the plug from its stored position on the periphery of the cover for engagement with the aperture. In a preferred embodiment, the plug and aperture are tapered and include a cooperating groove and ridge to secure and seal the plug inside the aperture.

摘要： An improved easy opening closure wherein a cover panel is bonded to a container end panel around the perimeter of an aperture through the end panel. A rotating lever is connected to a proximal lever through a rivet acting as a fulcrum such that, as pressure is applied to rotate the rotating lever axially around the rivet, the force is magnified which allows the proximal lever selectively debonds an isolated region of the perimeter, thereby allowing pressure within the container to escape. Continued rotation of the rotating lever further debonds the cover panel from the end panel. The leading edge of the rotating lever wedges between the end panel and the cover panel at the opposite edge of the aperture, thereby cleaving and debonding the connection between the panels at that edge.

摘要： A modular heating system and method is presented that automatically dissipates thermal energy from a heater or heated package if the energy cannot be assimilated without excessive temperature increase. A heater containing reactants that generate heat when combined is placed in thermal contact with a passive thermal control material which is in thermal contact with a container configured to contain a substance to be heated. The passive thermal control material allows the transmission of heat between the heater and the container as long as the temperature of the heat passing through the passive thermal control material does not exceed the activation temperature of the material. If the temperature of the heat passing through the passive thermal control material exceeds the material's decomposition temperature, the passive thermal control material decomposes and thereby dissipates heat.

An aperture is located about the recess and projecting from the aperture is an undulating flange on the bottom side of the lid. A closure member coactively engaging the aperture and recess to provide a sealing engagement by inserting a first portion of the closure member into the recess and a second portion of the closure member into the aperture and rotating the closure member from an opened position to a closed position. The closure member includes a breakable seal for providing security that the container is tamper free.
