    • The invention relates to a device for adjusting the cutting depth S of a hand-operated electric tool, especially of an angle grinder or of a hand-held circular saw. The inventive device comprises a fixing means (1) and a bracket that can be displaced with regard to the fixing means (1). The fixing means (1) has a first position, in which the bracket (2) is fixed in its position with regard to the fixing means (1), and has a second position, into which the bracket (2) can be displaced by the fixing means (1). The aim of the invention is to achieve a simple and quick operation without exerting a lot of force and to reduce the risk of accidents. To these ends, the invention provides that the fixing means (1) has a spring (3) which, with its spring force, presses the fixing means into its first position and which can be overcome by muscle force (M) whereby enabling the fixing means (1) to be placed into its second position. In addition, these advantages are achieved by the provision of a protective cover (11), which uses an above-mentioned device for adjusting the cutting depth S, and by the provision of a hand-operated electric tool that uses an above-mentioned protective cover (11).

    • The combination saw guide and gauge (1) permits the use of a powered saw such as a circular, jig, or reciprocating saw to make cuts (31) with precision presently requiring a table saw with a circular saw blade.
