摘要： A chemical treatment apparatus for diluting and activating a polymeric material can include a mixing chamber having a first end, a second end, a first baffle plate positioned between the first end and second end, a high shear mixing zone positioned between the first end of the mixing chamber and the first baffle plate, and a low shear mixing zone positioned downstream from the high shear agitation zone between the second end of the mixing chamber and the first baffle plate. The volume ratio of the high shear mixing zone to the low shear mixing zone can be in the range of 1:2 to 1:10. A method and system for diluting and activating polymeric materials are also disclosed.

The assembly includes a tube (30) with a closure member (40), a drive shaft (55) operably connected to a motor (60) and having a propeller (65) attached thereto, and a flange (70) with a seal (75). The drive shaft (55) and propeller (65) are longitudinally moveable in and out of the container (20) within the tube (30) while maintaining a seal on the tube to prevent the escape of liquids or gasses from the container (20). The tube (30) can be closed and the drive shaft (55) and propeller (65) removed without having to empty the container (20).
