摘要： Disclosed is a system (100) that can mix deionized water (144) and concentrated sheath fluid (146) to provide sheath fluid (148) in a flow cytometer system having a desired concentration. Flow rates are low, which substantially match the flow rate of sheath fluid through the nozzle (142), so that turbulence and air bubbles are not formed in the sheath fluid. The available deionized water is then used for back flushing and removal of sample cells and deposited salts from the sheath fluid.

The apparatus including a vessel having a sensor window and an interior chamber capable of holding a fluid, the interior chamber having a cross-sectional area. The apparatus also includes a sensor coupled to the vessel, the sensor having an active area interfaced with the sensor window. The sensor is capable of measuring a height of the fluid when the fluid is in the vessel. Wherein the fluid volume, when present in the vessel, is capable of being measured using the height of the fluid measured by the sensor and the cross-sectional area of the interior chamber.

摘要： The invention provides a process for preparing a liquid concentrate for use in the manufacture of plastic parts (including without limitation, as part of the sampling, evaluation and approval process before a plastic part goes into production) conprising: (a) preparing one or more liquid intermediates, wherein the liquid intermediates comprise a liquid vehicle and at least one additive (which may include a pigment, dye or other additive); (b) standardizing the liquid intermediates; (c) transferring the standardized liquid intermediates to a remote location; and (d) dispensing the liquid intermediates to produce a liquid concentrate, wherein the quantity of each liquid intermediate dispensed is controlled according to a predetermined formula for the liquid concentrate. The present invention also provides a process for preparing a liquid concentrate as described above using a dispensing system which includes a dispensing machine and mixing equipment which may be controlled by a computer or operated manually at the location where the dispensing is done to produce the liquid concentrate; and which may include the manual "hand add" of one or more components of the predetermined formula before the mixing step.
