    • The present invention relates to a system for extinguishing fires in flues and related heat generators, in particular wood-burning fireplaces, based on an extinguishing system that makes use of nebulized water obtained by means of high pressure delivery, through nozzles with a hole of very small diameter, in the order of one micron. Said system comprises delivery means (7), connected through a pipe (4) to a water-tap or to a tank and is characterized in that means (6) suitable to increase the water pressure are provided, so as to obtain jets of nebulized water through said delivery means (7), said first delivery means (7) comprising a plurality of nozzles (20) positioned close to the brazier or burner of said heat generator and hydraulically connected to said pipe (4).

    • A collecting vessel (1) is intended to be connected to a venting conduit (3), to which inflammable and/or environmentally dangerous gases developed by the waste are transferred.     • Disclosed herein is an ambient mist head for extinguishing fires that comprises a plurality of mist nozzles attached to a head. The mist nozzles are arranged spatially on the head at various angles. The number of mist nozzles, the spatial arrangement and the angular placement of the mist nozzles can vary, depending on the area of coverage required. The angular placement of the mist nozzles on the head is effected so that the mist stream emerging from one mist nozzle does not impinge on a mist stream emerging from another mist nozzle. The angular placement of the mist nozzles thereby provides a maximal amount of mist production, and minimizes the occurrence of streams of water droplets.

    • The invention pertains to a detector arrangement (1) included in a preventive safety system that can be used within a process in which loosely-formed process material is produced in a first unit (2) and transported (3) to a receiving, second unit (2), wherein the treatment to which the material is subjected in said first unit is liable to produce one or more discrete particles which have a temperature sufficiently high to initiate fire and/or explosion within at least the second part or unit (2). The sensors coact with an indicating and activating unit (12) such that indication by the sensors of the presence of a high-temperature particle in said indicating and activating unit will activate a device which is associated with the extinguishing zone and which functions to deliver an extinguishing agent and/or to remove particles (15). The sensing lobes of two sensor units (105, 107) cover a cross section of the transportation path. The indicating and activating unit (12) is adapted to evaluate the sensed intensity from each of said sensor units (105, 107) and to coordinate received intensity-dependent signals so as to calculate and establish on the basis thereof the liability of the particle to initiate fire and/or explosion.

    • The present invention relates to a preventive safety system which may be used in a process in which loosely-formed process material is produced in a first unit (1) and is transportable to a receiving, second unit (2), and in which process the treatment of material in the first unit is liable to generate a hazardous particle or particles which has/have a temperature which is sufficiently high to initiate burning and/or an explosion in at least the second unit. The requisite transportation of the loosely-formed material between the first unit and the second unit is effected through the medium of a stabilizing zone (7), an indicating zone (9) operative in indicating the presence of hazardous high-temperature particles, and an extinguishing zone (9), wherein the indicating zone (8) includes one or more hazardous particle sensors, wherein the sensors coact with an indicating and activating unit (12) such that when the presence of hazardous high-temperatures particles is detected by a sensor (10) in the indicating and activating unit (12) there is activated a device (15) which is located in the extinguishing zone and which functions to deliver an extinguishing agent and/or to remove said hazardous particles from the system. A detection-dependent intensity can be evaluated in the activating unit (12) and that measure or procedure which is most suitable at that time selected in the indicating and activating unit (12) from a number of available safety measures and safety procedures (19, 20, 21).
