摘要： The present invention provides a treatment apparatus. The apparatus contains a reservoir or generator for a treatment solution, a mechanism for delivering the treatment solution to a wound site, and a mechanism for applying the solution to a wound, tissue, bone or surgical cavity for treatment. The apparatus may apply the solution (e.g., a solution containing hypohalous acid) with, for example, an occlusive wound dressing, pulsative lavage device, hydrotherapy, hydrosurgical device, and/or ultrasound. A waste container may be operably connected to the apparatus for collecting waste from the wound by run-off, or by applying negative pressure (e.g. a vacuum). Because the apparatus of the invention can optionally be portable or mobile, the invention is suitable for use in hospitals and nursing homes, as well as for home wound care. The invention also provides a method for treating a wound (or other area needing treatment), and/or for reducing wound bioburden, by supplying a hypochlorous acid solution to the site, such as a wound colonized or infected with drug resistant bacteria, before, during, or after negative pressure wound therapy.

摘要： An apparatus for cleansing wounds in which irrigant fluid containing one or more physiologically active components from a means for supplying physiologically active agents from cells or tissue to the wound, e.g. an irrigant reservoir connected to a container that contains a cell or tissue component, in turn connected to a supply tube, connected to a conformable wound dressing and wound exudate from the dressing are moved by a device (which may be a single pump or two or more pumps) for moving fluid through a flow path which passes through the dressing and a means for providing simultaneous aspiration and irrigation of the wound. The latter removes materials deleterious to wound healing, while distributing materials that are beneficial in promoting wound healing from cells or tissue and the physiologically active components in therapeutically active amounts in a precise and time-controlled manner over the wound bed.

摘要： Nasal irrigation systems for irrigating and/or rinsing a subject's nasal cavity are disclosed herein. Irrigation fluid may be drawn through the nasal cavity while utilizing a staged treatment procedure which allows for an initial infusion or flushing of irrigation fluid, circulation of the fluid, and subsequent flushing of the effluent from the nasal cavity. The system allows for reversible flow of the fluid during irrigation as well as use of vibration to disrupt debris within the nasal cavity to facilitate the mixing and removal of the debris. Additionally, peristaltic flow of the irrigation fluid may be used to facilitate contact between the fluid and debris during fluid circulation. Moreover, the irrigation fluid may also incorporate air or a gas into the fluid flow to create discrete volumes or boluses of pressured fluid to further facilitate thorough irrigation of the nasal cavity.
