    • The present invention relates to a process for making up an area of human keratin materials using a makeup device comprising a deformable substrate (2) bearing a transfer surface (3) intended to come into contact with the keratin materials and configured to receive a coat of cosmetic ink (4), the process comprising the following steps: • a. depositing at least one cosmetic ink onto the transfer surface (3) by means of at least one digital printer, • b. placing the transfer surface (3) in contact with the area to be made up by mechanical action, especially by exerting a pressure on a surface opposite the transfer surface (3), • c. moving the transfer surface away from the area of the human keratin materials after the ink has been transferred.

    • An apparatus suitable for applying eye liner: a handle and an applicator and is characterised in that at least two surfaces of the applicator are of substantially the same size and shape as the area to which it is desired to apply the eye liner. The apparatus allows for eye liner to be easily applied to an area of an eye lid by applying eye liner to the applicator and then bringing the at least one surface into contact with said area. Different eye liner profiles may be achieved by utilising different surfaces of appropriate size and shape. The surface may be a suitable size and shape to result in a non-uniform eye liner profile on the eye lid. Different sizes and shapes of applicator may be provided to account for the variation in sizes and shapes of eyes which exists.

    • A computer-controlled system determines attributes of a frexel, an area of human skin, and applies a modifying agent (RMA) at the pixel level, typically to make the skin appear more youthful and so more attractive. The system scans the frexel, identifies unattractive attributes, and applies the RMA, typically with an inkjet printer. The identified attributes relate to reflectance and may refer to features such as irregular-looking light and dark spots, age-spots, scars, and bruises. Identified attributes may also relate to the surface topology of the skin, for more precisely enhancing surface irregularities such as bumps and wrinkles. Feature mapping may be used, for example to make cheeks appear pinker and cheekbones more prominent. The RMA can be applied in agreement with identified patterns, such as adding red to a red frexel, or in opposition, such as adding green or blue to a red frexel, according to idealized models of attractiveness.
