    • A smart baling apparatus for baling materials. The apparatus allows for automatic data gathering from the baling devices or scales via integrated computer processors and sensors, such sensors including at least one digital camera. Additionally, the baling apparatus comprises an input device and at least one label printer capable of communicating with the integrated computer processors. During the baling process, the weight of the completed bale is recorded and sent to a remote database in communication with the processor. By centralizing all of the data in a single point or database, such as a cloud database, a coordinated and detailed analysis of all recyclable materials for a given enterprise can be created and maintained with relatively little human input.

    • Disclosed are embodiments of a system and method for baling recyclable materials and managing the baling of recyclable materials. The apparatus for baling includes a finger baler for continuous compressing and baling recyclable materials, a scale, label printer, and a processor. Certain embodiments further comprise at least one digital camera, RFID dispenser, and internet connection that allows the processor to transmit collected data to a remote database for further analysis. The disclosed method for baling recyclable materials comprising the steps of continuously adding and compressing materials; forming a completed bale; weighing the bale automatically using a digital scale operably connected to the processor; recording the bale weight automatically; and printing a label. Additionally, the method may comprise inputting information and/or automatically recording data, and/or automatically transmitting the data associated with a bale to a remote database.

    • A processing system (12) that interacts with external devices (14,16,18,20) has a processor (22), a memory (24), and a controller (28). The memory (24) stores templates that provide access protocol information about the external devices (14,16,18,20). When an external device (14,16,18,20) is to be accessed, the operating system, which is stored in the memory (24), instructs the processor (22) to perform the access to the external device (14,16,18,20). The processor (22) puts the information about the external device (14,16,18,20).on the address portion of the system bus (26) where it is received and interpreted by the controller (28). The controller (28) in turn retrieves the template for the external device (14,16,18,20) as indicated by the information that was received. After retrieving the template, the controller (28) outputs the information, in the manner indicated by the template, on an external interface bus (30) where the external device is also coupled. The external device (14,16,18,20) then responds according to the information that the controller put on the external interface bus (30).

    • A processing system that interacts with external devices has a processor, a memory, and a controller. The memory stores templates that provide access protocol information about the external devices. When an external device is to be accessed, the operating system, which is stored in the memory, instructs the processor to perform the access to the external device. The processor puts the information about the external device on the address portion of the system bus where it is received and interpreted by the controller. The controller in turn retrieves the template for the external device as indicated by the information that was received. A registration process (400) registers the Framework native code (21) in the registration database according to an assigned entry identification and dynamically links the Framework native code (21) with subscriber device native code (20), if needed.
