    • A method, system, and computer readable medium allows a user to select an output signal for device/terminal in short distance wireless network. In embodiments of the present invention, the output signal is a ring tone, alarm, background image, vibration signal, font type, or portion of a motion picture. In embodiments of the present invention, a system comprises a first and second device, in a short distance wireless network, generating a first and second output signal. A cellular device generates a first and a second short-range radio signals responsive to a cellular signal from a cellular network. The cellular signal includes a first multimedia file for the first device and a second multimedia file for the second device. In an embodiment of the present invention, the first multimedia file and second multimedia file are thematically related. In an embodiment of the present invention, a processing device is coupled to the cellular network and stores the first and second multimedia files. In an embodiment of the present invention, a user selects a theme on a device or at a web site in order to change the output signals in the short distance wireless network. In an embodiment of the present invention, the output signals are changed periodically without user intervention. In still a further embodiment of the present invention, promoters or users pay a telecommunication network provider for conveniently and safely changing the output signals.

    • A system (Fig. 1), a wireless hand-held device, and software component for accessing information responsive to short-range radio signals is provided. The system includes a wireless gateway device (106) coupled to a network (105), such as a cellular network. The wireless gateway device (106) includes a network manager software component for accessing information from the network responsive to a first short-range radio signal. The network (105) may be a corporate, private or public network, such as the Internet (103). A first wireless device (107) is coupled to the wireless gateway device (106). The first wireless device (107) provides the first short-range radio signal. In an embodiment of the present invention, the first wireless device (107) is a cellular telephone, personal digital assistant or thin terminal having a Bluetooth TM processor and transmitter. In an embodiment of the present invention, the network manager software component includes a plug and play software component for loading and executing software for the first wireless device. In an embodiment of the present invention, a second wireless device accesses information on the first wireless device using the wireless gateway device.

    • A wireless device having dual bus architecture for interfacing with cellular signals and short-range radio signals is provided in an embodiment of the present invention. A first bus couples a first processor to a first transceiver capable to transmit and receive cellular signals. A second bus couples a second processor to a second transceiver capable to transmit and receive short-range radio signals. A third bus is coupled to the first processor and the second processor for transferring multiplexed commands and data. A fourth bus is coupled to the first processor and the second processor for transferring an audio signal, such as a human voice. In an embodiment of the present invention, each processor has a universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter ("UART") coupled to the third bus, such as a RS-232 bus, and the fourth bus is a pulse code modulation ("PCM") bus. A first memory device is coupled to the second bus and stores a microrouter software component for transferring an Internet protocol ("IP") packet.

    • A method for using a short-range address, such as Bluetooth TM address, to identify a cellular device ad authenticate cellular messages to the cellular device. A first short-range radio address for a cellular device is stored in a processing device, such as a server coupled to a cellular network. An authentication message is obtained by the processing device. A second short-range radio address is stored in the cellular device. A first message digest is calculated responsive to the authentication message and first short-range radio address. A cellular message, including the authentication message and the first message digest, is transmitted to the cellular device. The cellular device receives the cellular message and calculates a second message digest responsive to the authentication message and the second short-range radio address stored in the cellular device. The cellular device authenticates the cellular message responsive to comparing the first message digest to a second message digest.

    • A system, method and computer readable medium allows a user to alter output signals for a respective plurality of devices in short distance wireless network in response to a selection of an environment. In embodiments of the present invention, the output signal is a ring tone, alarm, display brightness, vibration signal, or type of language used. In embodiments of the present invention, a system comprises a cellular device and a first device, in a short distance wireless network. The cellular device generates a first short-range radio signal responsive to a selection of an environment. The environment is selected from the group consisting of a meeting, silence, normal and outdoors. According to another embodiment of the present invention, the selection of the environment includes 1) a user pressing a button indicating a selection of the environment 2) a second device, in the short distance wireless network, generating a second short-range radio signal indicating a selection of the environment, 3) a software component, such as a calendar program, selection in response to a user input, or 4) a user making a selection at a web site stored at a processing device. In an embodiment of the present invention, the second device is positioned at an entertainment location.
