    • A disclosed gaming machine may be customized for game play according to one or more preferences using preference information that is not correlated to an identity of a player. Therefore, the gaming machine may be configured to one or more player preferences without requiring the player to reveal their identity. The gaming machine may receive the preference information from at least one of a configuration instrument designed to store preference information, such as a cashless ticket voucher, ii) a display interface on the gaming machine, iii) a remote server, iv) a speech recognition interface on the gaming machine and v) combinations thereof.     • A disclosed gaming machine is used to provide a method of registering a player to a loyalty program such as a player tracking program at the gaming machine. At the gaming machine, the player or a casino service representative may enter identification information such as a name, an address and biometric information using an input mechanism located on the gaming machine or on a hand-held wireless device. The loyalty program information may be combined with information such as serial number or a bar-code read from a loyalty program instrument in a loyalty program registration request message sent to a loyalty program server such as a player tracking server. The loyalty program instrument may include a magnetic striped card, a smart card, a printed ticket, a room key, a cell-phone or a portable computing device. When the registration request is confirmed by the loyalty program server, the player may begin a loyalty program session on a gaming machine and earn loyalty points.

    • A method and apparatus for generating and accounting for vouchers or tickets is disclosed. In one embodiment, the invention comprises a voucher generation (S3) and accounting system which includes a gaming device adapted to accept credit from a player presented voucher, to present a game for play by a player, and pay an award in the event a winning event is achieved by play of the game. The system also includes a host arranged to transmit information to and receive information from the gaming device. A voucher issuance device is adapted to generate data regarding a voucher (S1), print the voucher for issuance and later presentment to the gaming device, and to create a record regarding the voucher(S2). The voucher issuance device communicates with the host for providing voucher information for use by the host in verifying a voucher presented to the gaming device. One embodiment of the invention comprises a method of issuing a voucher with a remote voucher generation device (S3) associated with a gaming system including a gaming machine and a host, comprising the steps of generating data regarding a voucher to be printed, creating a record regarding the voucher (S2), printing the voucher and transmitting information regarding the voucher from the remote voucher generation device to the host.

    • A disclosed thin light-emitting interface displays may be mounted to a surface on the gaming machine. The light-emitting elements used in the interface displays may be provided from electro-luminescent elements, organic light emitting diode (OLED) elements and combinations thereof. The thin light-emitting interface displays may be used to input and output gaming information on the gaming machine. The gaming information that is input and output via the interface display may be used to provide: 1) a game of chance played on the gaming machine, 2) player tracking services, 3) game services available on the gaming machine and 4) attract features.
