摘要： A method and associated system for effectively increasing the number of antenna elements within a multi-element antenna system through computation of a response of "virtual" antenna elements located along an antenna array. The physical elements of the array are positioned sufficiently near each other to enable synthesis of a polynomial or other mathematical expression characterizing the response of the array to receipt of an incident waveform. Values of the responses associated with the virtual antenna elements of the array may then be determined through evaluation of the synthesized polynomial or other expression. The resultant array response values associated with the virtual and physical elements of the array are then provided to an associated receiver for processing.

摘要： A system and method for interference reduction in a spread spectrum receiver including a rake receiver (310) having a plurality of fingers (314) for processing a plurality of data signals (306) and an associated plurality of pilot signals is disclosed herein. The method includes generating a plurality of intra-finger interference cancellation signals (440) using the plurality of pilot signals. In this regard each of the plurality of intra-finger interference cancellation signals are associated with one of the plurality of fingers. Ones of the plurality of intra-finger interference cancellation signals are weighted so as to generate a set of weighted intra-finger interference cancellation signals. The method further includes synthesizing at least one inter-finger interference cancellation signal (520) in accordance with the set of weithted intra-finger cancellation signals. At least one inter-finger interference signal may then be subtracted from a corresponding one of the plurality of data signals.
