摘要： A scanner (5) disposed within a portable copier (figure 10) includes a scan carriage (40), a document indexer (10) for transporting a document along a document transport path (20), a copy sheet indexer (25) for transporting a copy sheet along a copy sheet transport path (35), and a printhead (65) and ink supply cartridge (70), preferably a ribbon cartridge (70), supported by the scan carriage (40). The document and copy sheet paths (20 and 35 respectively) are disposed on opposite sides of the ribbon cartridge (70), allowing removal and replacement of the ribbon cartridge (70) on the scan carriage (40) without disturbing the position of either the copy sheet or the document. Separate motors (90a and 90b) drive the document and copy sheet indexers (10 and 25 respectively), so that the copy sheet may be ejected from the device (figure 10) without advancing the document and without moving the scan carriage (40).
