摘要： In fluid pumping apparatus suitable for use in drop on demand ink jet printing, an electromagnetic actuator operating on fluid in the chamber causes a change in pressure, the actuator comprising an armature displaced through a modulation in the distribution of a flux. Modulation of flux is achieved through constructive and destructive interference, between a first magnetic field and a second switchable magnetic field. A combination of permanent magnets and electromagnets are used to provide flux in the arrangement. The invention is preferably of planar construction, manufactured using MEMS techniques.

摘要： A method of forming a component for a droplet deposition apparatus,includes the steps of: providing a protection material so as to fill fluid chambers and; directing a high-powered laser at the component so as to ablate an array of nozzles communicating with respective filter chambers. The protection material acts to inhibit damage to the walls of the chamber during ablation, such as damage to the interior passivation coating, or electrodes provided on the walls of the chamber, and can be removed for example by flushing with a heated solvent.

摘要： A droplet ejection apparatus, such as an inkjet printhead, having improved productivity that includes: an array of elongate fluid chambers (2), with each chamber communicating with a nozzle (6), the array extending in an array direction; a common fluid inlet manifold (4); a common fluid outlet manifold (5); and a fluid supply that generates a through-flow of fluid from the common fluid inlet manifold, through each chamber in the array and into the common fluid outlet manifold; the two walls defining each chamber are formed from piezoelectric material so as to effect droplet ejection from the nozzle; this ejection flow occurs simultaneously with the through flow, which may have a larger value than the maximum ejection flow; each nozzle may be elongate parallel to the length of its chamber and/or may have an outlet with an area conferring advantages in terms of productivity and temperature control.
